Spline

This small cherry side table enhances the idea of exposing joinery. It offered me an opportunity to refine my skills on crafting different types of joinery. I chose cherry because not only it is a relatively stable hardwood, but also I like its modest mid tone color. In order to create a nice but subtle contrast between the main body and the joinery, I used maple for the splines and tenons. The two legs are slightly tapered, to compose an unobtrusive form.
